PokerStars announced Monday its Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) will be back with more than $4.5 million in prizes across the states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

SCOOP 2022 will be held from March 25-April 11.

PokerStars says it has dealt more than 200 billion hands online. The company touts itself as having “the world’s most popular online poker site.”

Michigan, Pennsylvania and New Jersey are the three states that run these popular poker events. The other U.S. states that have legal online poker are Connecticut, Delaware, West Virginia and Nevada.

The same states, with the exception of Nevada, also have real money online casinos.

PokerStars had a Winter Series that started in late January.

Three SCOOP Series To Run At Same Time

For the first time, SCOOP will run all three series at the same time. It will award a pot of $1.5 million in Michigan (MISCOOP).

Michigan will offer at least 35 events for each of three stake levels and the series will feature buy-ins from as low as $10 to the highest of $1,000. This gives equal opportunities for players of all skill a chance to compete for prize money and a SCOOP trophy.

“It’s so exciting to see more SCOOP events than ever on the PokerStars calendar for this year’s Spring Championship,” PokerStars Ambassador Jennifer Shahade said in a news release. “The community gets so excited and engaged when SCOOP comes around, and it’s always been perceived as being one of the most prestigious online tournaments around the world.”

The highlights of the series include two-day main events ($300), mini main events ($50) and a High Roller Main Event (one in each state), beginning April 10. The High Roller Main Event pays $1,000 to the winner.

From the debut of the event all the way until April 9, players who are eliminated without finishing in the money are afforded a second chance with a freeroll ticket to remaining SCOOP events. Players can win entry to any series via second chance freerolls awarding $500 daily from March 28-April 3 and $1,000 daily in freerolls from April 4-11.

PokerStars Unveils Improved Rewards Program

“We’re excited to bring our new PokerStars Rewards program to our community in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan and give players more than ever before for playing with us,” Rebecca McAdam, the associate director of consumer engagement and public relations at PokerStars, said in a news release. “We’ve been working hard to give our players the best program and from listening to community feedback, we know that value and transparency are key, so we’re very happy to launch a program that has truly been built with this at its heart.”
