As the summer season starts to wind down, those who play Michigan online poker will have more action to enter, as BetMGM will kick off its eighth monthly tournament series of the year in Michigan on Aug. 14.

BetMGM Michigan announced its Summer Progressive Knockout (PKO) Fest will run in the state through Aug. 21, featuring 25 events over eight days and $480,000 in guaranteed prize money.

The series will also run simultaneously in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Those three states are also among the few states in which online poker is offered, along with Nevada, Delaware, Connecticut and West Virginia.

That group of states, with the exception of Nevada, also have MI real money online casinos.

Knockout Events All The Rage

The series is the latest option coming to gambling in Michigan starting Sunday.

"As we reach poker’s summer months, it becomes more important than ever to offer players what we know will be popular and, right now, progressive knockout events are more popular than ever,” Luke Staudenmaier, director of poker for BetMGM, said in a news release.

“This is the sixth BetMGM Poker event to feature PKOs in 2022 and the second to be built completely around the variant.”

Last month, BetMGM held its Summer Classic tournament series and saw 88 entries vying for a $33,088 prize pool.
