Michigan and New Jersey poker players, rejoice!

PokerStars announced it will host its largest-ever Michigan online poker tournament series(NJ as well) – and first multi-state online series for the recently combined player pool of Michigan and New Jersey – with the PokerStars Player Championship (PSPC), which will start Friday and run until Jan. 30.

Main Events will get underway on Jan. 29.

On New Year’s Day, PokerStars combined Michigan and New Jersey player pools, which gives poker players and fans more tournaments and bigger prizes for both states in the future.

Michigan online casinos are among the few in the United States, along with New Jersey.

Those states, plus Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia and Connecticut, have online gambling for slots, as well as table games, such as online blackjack  and baccarat.

How New Poker Tournament Works

PSPC Online will offer Michigan and New Jersey players in the shared player pool a guaranteed prize pool of $2.5 million across 85 events, with $1.5 million guaranteed for players in Pennsylvania in their own 72-event series.

“It was brilliant to see our communities in Michigan and New Jersey come out in force on January 1st to celebrate the combining of our player pool and enjoy our special New Year’s Day events and smash the guarantees,” said Severin Rasset, PokerStars US Managing Director, in a news release.

“We’re now excited to bring players our first multi-state online series and our largest online series to date in the U.S., where players have the chance to join in the Bahamian fun of the PSPC and play alongside their favorite players as they battle it out on the online tables. There’s plenty more to come for the Michigan and New Jersey community and we look forward to exciting and awarding our players in 2023 and beyond.”

The buy-in for the Main Event of the online series is only $250 but will award a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool. There is also a $50 buy-in Mini Main Event featuring a $75K guarantee and a $2,500 buy-in High Roller Main Event awarding a $125K guaranteed prize pool. A total of $500K will be awarded to the players in Michigan and New Jersey across the three Main Events.

Pennsylvania players can also participate in the $150K Main Event ($250 buy-in) on Jan. 29.

For all three states – Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania – players can participate in PSPC Online with buy-ins as low as $10 and satellites from just $1. Additionally, players can win Main Event seats via special $2.50 Spin and Go’s, or by depositing $50 or more using code ‘PSPCONLINE” after Jan. 13 for a ticket to the Depositor Freeroll starting Jan. 29.
