Michigan Betting Adds 2 New Alternatives Before Holidays from Partypoker
By Lou Monaco

If you have the time amid the rush of holiday shopping and celebrations, Michigan sports betting has some new poker alternatives to play.

Two December Michigan online poker series have been announced and Michigan is one of three states in which bettors can test their skills.

Partypoker US Network’s Cheap Stakes and New Year Knockout Weekend were both unveiled Thursday by BetMGMsportsbook Michigan.

Earlier this week, “25 Days of Tournaments” was announced by PokerStars. It can be played until Dec. 30.

Cheap Stakes runs from Dec. 17-26 and is a low-stakes tournament series that features daily buy-ins of $20 and $50.

From Dec. 29 through Jan. 2, 2022, New Year Knockout Weekend is a tournament series built exclusively around progressive knockout bounty events.

Both events will run across all three of partypoker US Network’s live markets in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

“Cheap Stakes provides low-stakes players a chance at great prizing on the heels of last month’s End Boss series, during which we hosted events with higher stakes across the board,” Luke Staudenmaier, director of poker for BetMGM, said in a press release. “We’re thrilled to roll this out for the first time across all of our live markets.

“Just after that wraps up, New Year Knockout Weekend helps end this year and ring in the new one with a celebration of one of the most entertaining formats in poker.”

Michigan residents can play by accessing BetMGM Poker.

There also will be a variety of tournament qualifiers and satellites for players to win their way into both events, starting as low as $2.

Guarantees vary by state.

The complete schedule of events for both are below (all times Eastern).
