The folks at Caesars Sportsbook Michigan signed their second partnership in the state on Tuesday, this time with the PGA of Michigan.
The pact allows the Las Vegas mainstay to be the presenting sponsor of five Michigan PGA tournaments scheduled for this summer — the Club Car Spring Scramble at Wyndgate Country Club, the Hall Financial Michigan Open Championship, the Midwest Golf & Turf Pro-Am, the Boyne Tournament of Champions Pro Am and the Fall Pro Scratch.
Caesars’ partnership with the PGA Tour of Michigan comes three months after the operator inked a similar deal with Michigan State University.
Online Michigan sports betting launched in January 2021 and has become one of the strongest markets in the U.S. It posted $423.8 million in total handle for February. In January total wagering was $532.7 million, a state record.
What Caesars-Michigan PGA Partnership Entails
The two deals feature similar perks, such as allowing Caesars to put its name on signage, in addition to opening opportunities for hospitality and VIP experiences through Caesars’ loyalty program.
Justin Phillips, who serves as the Michigan Section PGA’s tournament director, said in an association news release that the organization is thrilled to have Caesars on board, helping grow the game in the state.
“Caesars aims to enhance the player and fan experience through this partnership,” Phillips said in the release. “They want to engage, educate and reward the PGA of Michigan community, and build relationships at a grassroots level with the Michigan golf community through special promotions and activations with member courses throughout the state.”
As part of the PGA-Caesars pact, first-time customers who sign up for an account with the emperor can receive $60 of bonus play following their first deposit of $20 or more by entering the promotional code “MIPGA.”
The promotion allows Michigan users to use their funds on Caesars Michigan online casino games, such as slots, video poker, roulette, baccarat, and blackjack; in addition to sports betting play, such as wagering on this week’s play at the Masters.
Caesars’ Michigan State Deal
On Jan. 13, Michigan State announced that Caesars would become the school’s official sports betting and iGaming partner.
It was the first partnership between Caesars and a Big Ten school.
The deal allows Caesars to put its name on a new premium seating area at Spartan Stadium. It also allows for hospitality and VIP experiences through Caesars’ loyalty program, according to a news release at the time.
There will also be outdoor tailgating areas near the stadium for Michigan State football sponsored by Caesars, along with mobile sports betting, iGaming and World Series of Poker promotions.
Last September, Caesars announced a similar deal with Louisiana State University of the Southeastern Conference.
There is a Caesars Sportsbook at the Turtle Creek Casino in northern Michigan. It is owned and operated by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
