If you’ve ever considered what a casino inside Ford Field would look like, BetMGM Casino is bringing that concept digitally to its online casino gaming catalog.

BetMGM announced on Thursday two new MI online casino games centered around the state’s professional football team, the Detroit Lions. Blackjack and Roulette games use the branding and colors of the franchise and place players at the tables inside an immersive three-dimensional rendering of a suite in Ford Field.

“BetMGM is excited to expand its relationship with the Detroit Lions through these innovative table offerings in Michigan,” Oliver Bartlett, director of gaming for BetMGM, said in a news release. “Since Day One of operation there, our strategy of leveraging both in-house and exclusive content has resonated with players and we know that Lions fans across the state will jump at the chance to play blackjack and roulette at Ford Field.”

Both games were developed by Evolution – BetMGM’s live dealer partner for Michigan gambling. Players also can select the “go live” button to be taken out of their seat, onto the field and then directly into the live version of the game they are playing.

The new roulette game comes with realistic ball animations, section bets and a full results statistical interface. Blackjack allows players to bet in up to five seats and includes two popular side bets: 21+3 and Any Pair.

"Partnering with BetMGM has been a great experience, and the launch of Detroit Lions Blackjack and Roulette is another step forward in strengthening our relationship,” said Jeff Millar, North America commercial director for Evolution. “We’ve had the pleasure of working with BetMGM to create something truly unique in the market with a great partner like the Lions. Players are going to love this branded experience, as it brings excitement and electricity to their doors.”

BetMGM, Lions Partnership

The Lions and BetMGM are nearing their one-year anniversary since the debut of their partnership. On Sept. 3, 2020, the joint venture between BetMGM and the Lions was announced, giving the professional football team its first sports betting sponsorship agreement.

The deal allows for BetMGM to be featured on broadcast programming, digital marketing assets and in-stadium promotions and signage. The gaming company is also the presenting sponsor of Lions fan engagement events like Lions Bingo and Lions Perks.

“The Detroit Lions' historic relationship with BetMGM has been years in the making and we’re proud to announce details of our official partnership,” Detroit Lions President Rod Wood said in the news release. “We’re continuously seeking new ways to entertain and involve our fans which is especially important during such unusual times; this partnership with BetMGM will provide additional and exciting opportunities to engage our fans.”

BetMGM Tops in MI Online Casinos

BetMGM’s online casino has led Michigan’s iGaming market since the state launched its online MI sports betting and internet casino platforms. In June, BetMGM reported $34 million in gross gaming revenue, accounting for 37.8% of the market share in the state.

Across the four states where BetMGM has an online casino, BetMGM has reached a 28% national market share.
